CloudBees devops engineer wanted!

Responsibilities:

• Provides first line coverage for operational alerts in EU timezone
• Owns and maintains operational «playbook» used to detect and resolve most common operational problems (increasingly automating things, as they arise)
• Primarily responsible for in developing automation of monitoring, alerting, and recovery of operational systems
• Drives operational roadmap and provides leadership for improvements in operational systems and infrastructure
• Roadmap areas: security, system/software patches/updates, log management, auditing, security certifications
• Provides guidance to the Cloud product teams about changes to make to improve detection and handling of operational problems
• Explain security policies to customers and review customer security requirements

Required Skills:

• Linux system administration — know how to setup servers with various software stacks and diagnose problems
• AWS expertise — know how to leverage AWS features for improving operations
• Chef — expert skills with managing Chef and creating recipes
• Experience enforcing security procedures for IT and/or development teams
• Expert a writing shell scripts
• Expert at one or more of the following programming languages: Python, Ruby, Java

Nice to have skills:

• Experience with achieving/maintaining security certifications
• Operational experience at a SaaS vendor
• Java programming
• Experience talking to customers with deep security requirements
